as promised heres the first exciting installment of whats what on englands fixtures and fittings see the wonderful thre prong plug ,womder at how m others survive when they tread on them in the middle of the night where kids have left them upturned on the floor.also specially for Kath see my dirty light switch later this week I may scrape all the paint from it prior to me cocking up painting the wall white

looks like a rocker switch and a plug with a bit of a different pattern to the prongs , we have this type of crap here too mum, sorry to make you look not so exotic but thats the way it is . allan
the safety engineer was obviously not in attendance the day that design got approved. Ouch!!!
the exotic aspect of the switch is the fact that is is apparently mounted sideways. american electrical boxes have their mounting screws top and bottom rather than side to side
I have been trying to think of things we have that isn't found in America, but the only thing I could think of was fortnights.
