though you might lik to see a better picture of toby as you can see he's far more lab than poogle,its a bit like having a special needs child coming to stay,Basil loves him except when toby is trying to rip his throat out ( although that hasn;t ha[pened for a couple of days now , Toby finally seems to be getting the message that basil will be fed first etc and is learning his place in my particular pack.He's a nice lad though

This sparkey I have is basically 90 percent black lab and I'd say hes the oddest dog I've ever owned . He seems very neurotic about all kinds of things . Is this typical of black labs ? ak
I don't know allan but a lot of the black labs I know are quite nasty peices of work,not the yellowones just the black I have no idea why

Ok, I got the picture , thanks kath . I don't think this dog is nasty tho I haven't really had him around other dogs . He just has odd habits . I don't know his history so maybe his first 3 years were not good . He does shy from my hand as tho he expects to get hit ( I never hit him )so that might be part of his problem. I take that back, he looks positively evil with that one eye peering out of that big black head and those white pearly teeth posed to chomp down on anything that passes by . He looks a bit like Mike Tyson . Don't forget Mum , it was a Black Lab that ate off the face transplant ladys face . Her pet no less . Be sure to protect your ears around this dog Mum . allan
This reminded me of when I first got that great dane years ago named zeke . He used to attack the other dogs I had at the time until someone said try feeding him alone and then having NO food available anywhere including biscuits or even leather chew stuff . That was it . no more trying to kill the other dogs tho he did stay the alpha dog except for me being the supreme alpha dog of the house
black labs can have a crabby disposition. my dad had one when he was a kid and that dog would growl at my mom whenever she was at the house.(before they were married) on the other hand, i had a black lab-golden retreiver mix and he was as sweet a boy as you could ask for.
