Because sadly we (or most of us)want cheap food over good service.

I love shopping in small shops. And although I don't eat meat, I can only think of one actual butchers that isn't in a supermarket. Very sad.

The woman who used to work in our Macfisheries looked like a trout.

I believe the MacMarket workers wore orange?

Apologies for the essay.

we have piggly wigglies by me (i hate that name and the slogan, "shop the pig")
i prefer the local pick-n-save which is where i shop. however it has been called pick-your-nose by my kids and husband since they opened. so now we say... see you later, i am going to pick-your-nose.

I still prefer shopping in the local grocers. Its much more personal and you can have a good chat with the shopkeeper. Youre just another customer in a large supermarket!

Ok. But I still like the sound of shopping in a Piggly Wiggly better than shopping in Spar.

I like the sound of me being crushed under a steamroler better than shopping at the local spar.
