Today I got a letter from my bank saying that while they did not in anyway admit that the bank charges they have made over the last 18 months are wrong they would like as a gesture of goodwill to reimburse me the sum of £1000 .This is the first bit of good luck I have had in ages may it be the turning point I have been looking for

So the drinks are on you.
OMG, thats fantastic. Lets hope its the start of a whole load of lovely things.
Good for you, Mum.
What's that equal to in dollars?
Hopefully it's the start of an upswing.
Let's go to Vegas!!!
This is the local Yorkshire fisting club. We are writing to tell you your subscription fees are due, and the sum of £1000 is payable to your local rep :-D
Thats terrific Alex . If this is not joint money with your husband cash the check and put the money aside . Honestly I would keep it in the form of bank notes for now until you fully know what is going to happen with things . You don't want some other bank snatching it out of an account . That must have been a wonderful surprise for you . allan
At today's rate of exchange that's $1949.10. Sounds even better in American, Alex!
What an absolute crock of shit. If they thought for a minute that they were right, there is no way they would offer you any money, let alone £1000. they know they are in the wrong. Bastards.
i don't even have to cash it they have creditd it to my bank account already :)
Get the money out as I said in cash alex as soon as possible . Your husband and his new lass might go get it before you do and don't expect sympathy if that happens . At least from me , allan
my hsuband can;t touch my bank account
Years ago when I had a salaried job, my company once mistakenly deposited around $83,000 in my account on payday instead of the usual amount. Unfortunately they removed it the next day. I considered withdrawing it but decided if I was going to go on the lam, I'd need more than $83k.
My best mate had £5000 put in her account in error. She left it there for ages, and then asked her solicitor (not a pimp, but a lawyer) mother whether she would have to pay it back if she spent it...and then they noticed.
Apparantly they can take it back straight away, and you will be charged bank charges etc on it. You have no bank rights or anything.
Like I said before....Bastards.
glad u have some good luck al, bout bloody time.but i hope u remember that 900 quid loan i gave u. xx
