My kids are home they have been with their father for the last 5 days and I have felt like my arm has been cut off , they are currently in the bedroom being loud and arguing over the x box no doubt tomorrow they will be driving me mad and I will be shouting and moaning but today I am just happy to hear it , it's been like a morgue here for the last 5 days. I may even let them choose their own dinner from Lidls thats how much I've missed them

Its a supermarket that sells produce at a reasonable price and people wont shop there because they would rather pay more to shop in a place that they consider upmarket. personally I like to buy good quality stuff but not pay through the nose but if people want to pay more for the same stuff thats their choice. They also pay their staff £8 an hour unlike walmart

Napolean once frowned on England as a "nation of shopkeepers". Today, the island's retail industry is controlled by the likes of Lidls and its mirrored image Aldis. Had he known this outcome, poor Wellington would have avoided the little town of Waterloo and sent the Prussians home early.

There are stores here with names like "mor for less." They sell old bread, icky meat, and questionable prduce but really cheap boxed food and canned goods as well as nicely priced soaps, detergents and personal care items.

i generally wouldn't mind shopping there for nonperishables except they're not located near me. most of the stores near me are ethnic groceries and i don't like to go there either, i have an aversion to buying stuff that i have no idea what it is. i usually go to safeway or A&P. i mostly go to safeway because it's union and they have a better selection although the produce is better at A&P.

hoity toity people here go to wholefoods or traderjoes and buy overpriced "organic" crap and then bitch at the price of it all.

They do pay £8 per hour, but you are self employed, so no sick or holiday pay. I shop in Lidls (Oh my god I said it outloud) because I like trying different stuff. Their wine is fab and so are their jams. I also like their fruit and veg but only when it's on offer cos otherwise it is expensive :o)

ah but the rules have changed on self employed status and now you do get holiday pay but its all very complex
