There are words that I hate for no apparent reason , I am a fairly irrational person anyway but there are words that make me actually want to hit people when they use them . Anyhoo is one, I mean what the fuck is wrong with anyway, or anyhow if you must?.

that's not an irrational hate at all.
jilly
People who use the following should be shot:
"let's take a meeting"
"it's not a problem . . it's a challenge."
I despise "anyhoo" and a typed *sigh*...also "sammich" drives me insane...it's not cute.
I hate - wistful, snog, slag, the c word, arse, bruise.
me too anonymous , all three , sammich being the worst of the 3. allan
i think i read that word "anyhoo" somewhere recently. i don't like it either. i also don't like it when someone starts a sentence with the word.. Um... like we are way too stupid to understand what they are trying to convey.
Oooooh! And I never say "pardon"..what a horrid word. I always say excuse me or sorry.
I always say I beg your pardon or usually sorry. I hate beaker for mug but anyhoo isn;t even a word . Weaslemum also hates people who talk about themselves in the third person
Umm i usually start sentences with the word umm till i can remember what i was going to say. erm is my other bad habit.
An irritating colleague of mine uses the words 'happening' or 'going on' far too much. 'It's not happening, is it Verity' or 'we want to get a [such and such]happening/ going on here'. I have another irritating colleague who laughs ha as ha she ha talks ho ho, when what she is saying is he he entirely boring ha and not funny in the slightest. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to be a grumpy pensioner with zero tolerance of buzzwords and jolly people.
have you met my friend Jackie , Verity I can see you two getting on like a house onf ire
Verity. I can't wait to be a grumpy pensioner. Then I will have an excuse for my bad attitude.
I say um and erm a lot. It's because I can never remember what I'm saying next.
Napkin I fucking hate the word napkin I don't care if serviette is non u I will not use a napkin
i didn't really mean using um when talking. i was referring to um when typing a reply to a post...
like....
UM.... i didn't really mean using um when talking.
You read "anyhoo" on Ragamuffins blog spidey . It's in the first sentence of the latest post . Another word I find can't stand and I only first came on it in chats is "thingy"! For Gods sake just say "thing" . Thingy sounds like freaking baby talk . allan
....trollope however, is a great word.
I hate the word 'workshop' when it is applied to anything but a place where people work with machines.
Anything 'gate' when applied to a scandal in the news.
My kids have taken to using Shakespearean insults: "Thou art a villain!", "Thou art a ratcatcher!" and "Rotten orange". Like trollop, the best words are the old ones.
my favourite words are trollop and throb. i also think cascade is a nice word.
i don't like the words fanny and cock.
i know this is going off the point but hate it when people say "i could of" instead of "i could have"
I hate a Big ask it not a big ask its asking for a big favour
I can't think of one word I hate. Anyhoo, you people are such grouchy cunts, pardon me for saying so.
I knew somebody would say the c word.
Strumpet and crescendo are also lovely words.
oooh another thing i hate is when quiz hosts say "good answer"
surely the answer is either right or wrong.
I hate it when someone blaten
tly steals answers and then says assist to weasle and if he does it moch more oftn I am going to rip his fucking head off
Hahahaha! Who is that?
Anyhoo, calm your passions woman
you are going to get a smack round the ear hole ronald
I hate the word pussy.
Britters

I don't Verity, but I like him/her

it is annoying because people usually say anyways in a way that can sometimes infer that the listener's response is not that deterministic on the speaker's opinion. Anywhoo same deal, except worse because they are trying to act nice when they are being presumptuous and condescending.
I give people of the doubt and don't judge that this is really a conscious thing, but it still annoys me too.
